Architecture you can explore from every angle
A building often catches our attention from a particular viewpoint: a façade, a terrace or a silhouette against the sky. A miniature offers a different experience. You can turn it around, examine the relationships between its parts and see the whole composition from a distance.
Villa Tugendhat makes a distinctive subject for this approach. Its horizontal lines, terraces and arrangement of volumes remain recognisable at a small scale. These relationships are central to an architectural miniature: preserving the character of the building matters as much as the number of tiny details.
From a building to a miniature
Reducing architecture to a small object changes how we see detail. A thin edge, railing or small opening may become barely visible. Proportions, the arrangement of volumes and clear outlines therefore become particularly important. A larger model invites closer inspection, while a smaller one provides a discreet reminder of a place.
Our collection offers several ways to explore the villa. The versions differ in size and in how you can interact with them. All the models described below are physical 3D-printed products, rather than downloadable files.
Which version is right for you?
- Villa Tugendhat S measures 91 × 62 × 23 mm. It is a compact souvenir for a space where every centimetre counts.
- Villa Tugendhat M measures 138 × 93 × 34 mm, balancing a convenient footprint with readable architectural detail.
- The modular L model measures 184 × 124 × 49 mm. Its removable floors let you explore the arrangement of spaces inside.
- The illuminated modular version adds integrated lighting, a control button and USB-C charging. It measures 184 × 124 × 49 mm, the same as the L version.
Start with a simple question: would you prefer a small reminder of Brno, or a model to explore? S and M suit the first purpose. If the internal layout interests you too, take a closer look at the modular version.
The Barcelona chair: from architecture to furniture
The collection also explores the world of interiors. The Barcelona chair miniature shifts the focus from a building to a standalone design object. Its curved base and segmented seat create a different rhythm from the villa’s horizontal terraces, offering another subject for an architectural collection.
The chair measures 80 × 75 × 75 mm. It is a physical 3D-printed miniature for a shelf or collection, rather than functional furniture or a reproduction made from the original chair’s materials. If you display it alongside a villa model, bear in mind that the products are not specified as sharing a common scale.
A keyring: a little piece of Brno for every day
The Villa Tugendhat keyring is the smallest interpretation of the villa in this collection. The 46 × 31 × 11 mm model comes with a keyring, so it does not have to remain in a display cabinet.
It makes a small souvenir for someone with a personal connection to Brno, or a gift to bring home from a visit. Where the larger models invite a closer look at details, the keyring focuses on the villa’s recognisable form in a pocket-sized object.
SAFETY MATCH: a villa inside a matchbox
SAFETY MATCH adds an element of discovery to the architectural miniature. The villa sits inside a matchbox, with the model’s size and construction adapted to its packaging. It measures 51 × 36 × 15 mm.
The packaging is part of the idea. It carries the Tugendhat name and a motif based on the cross-section of a characteristic column used inside the building. Even closed, the box refers to the architecture you discover when you open it. It can be a small gift or an unusual addition to a collection of Brno souvenirs.
One collection, seven ways to remember Tugendhat
Four versions of the villa, a chair miniature, a keyring and SAFETY MATCH offer more than different sizes of the same object. Each provides a different experience: exploring removable floors, displaying an illuminated model or carrying a small reminder of the architecture with you.
For a small gift, start with the keyring or SAFETY MATCH. Villa S or M and the Barcelona chair suit a desk or shelf. The modular L version lets you explore the building more closely, while the illuminated version offers another way to display it.
